Rinks have available hours. Skaters can't find ice. We put the two together — one hour at a time. Fill or kill. We never buy the ice.
The rink gives us the open ice and the rate. That number is theirs, in full. Each listed hour is one named type. If it hits the number, the hour books. If it misses, nobody is charged.
This is a pre-booked slot. You see the type, the $, heads in, and whether a goalie is in before you drive. Charged only if it runs.
Day, start, length, and the rate. If that ice sells, they tell us and we pull. We list the hour so skaters can take it.
Stick & puck or drop-in, as listed. Enter your card. Nothing is charged.
If it hits the number, the hour books. If it misses, nobody is charged. Hit it, we confirm the ice is still open, then it books and Stripe charges the card they already saved. Miss it and your card is never touched. Pay-now is after the hour confirms — not before.
You are never charged for a session that doesn't happen. Not “you'll get a refund.” There's nothing to refund — the money never moved in the first place.
Stripe saves your card. We never see it. Charged only if the hour runs.

The cap is how many can play that hour. Stick & puck is smaller than drop-in. First in keep the spots. Extra names are released and never charged. The $ you see is for this hour — it doesn’t go up if fewer people join.
Nobody is charged. Nothing is booked. Join the list if you want the next one.
Small service fee runs the site. $2.49 each for 1 or 2 spots on open hours. For 3 or more, one payer, the lesser of that or 6% of the ice for those spots. Whole sheet is 6% once. On top of the rink's rate, never out of it. You see it before you commit, every time.
Goalies pay $5 toward the ice, plus the small service fee. That is not a skater slot. The hour still runs with 0 goalies in.
Soft commit — card saved, not charged — cancel anytime from My Bookings. After the hour confirms and you're charged, you can't self-cancel; email ross@ahockeylife.com or call (216) 236-3833. If we or the rink cancel a confirmed session, you get a full refund including the fee.
If a session is called off after payment — a rink issue, a Zamboni breakdown, whatever — you get your money back in full, fee included. That's on us, not you.
A waiver, once, when you book — standard for any ice. If a skater is under 18 a parent or guardian handles it, and we'll ask for an emergency contact. Some sessions are age-restricted so a nine-year-old isn't sharing a sheet with grown men.
Find available ice near you — or tell us what you'd skate.
